Insurance has been going up everywhere including places where there isn't hail.Texas is a very challenging insurance market though not as bad as a Florida or California...yet.Is your Travelers policy with an independent agent?

As an agent I have always provided these to clients when looking for a 12+ month rental. 

I spoke to a real estate agent from Remax down there about plots in Secret Beach and it all sounds pretty great (probably too good to be true), so was hoping to hear from some fellow investors who’ve bought or looked into Ambergris.

If investment is a major part of your plan, ask each about their expectations and support for investment-focused agents.

Educate yourself on the local market, network with other investors and agents, and always have a solid plan in place before making any investments.
