I've been an agent for a few years and mainly would use cold calling as my primary way to obtain leads.

I have personally seen success in sending letters (handwritten cards), making cold calls, and knocking on doors.

I am an agent and do a lot of cold calling (most people hate to do it lol).

If I scrapped the list I lose money and opportunity and experience, cold calling scares the ever living love out of me.

I hate to say it, but nobody is thinking of moving between Thanksgiving and Christmas in a cold climate state.

Cold calling expired is cheap and labor intensive.

Concentrate your efforts in finding off-market deals and make sure you know your numbers cold, so you can spot a deal quickly.What about something like this?

They put special chemicals/ compounds  in it to work in cold weather 

I don't think that the MLS is what @Ben Feder is looking for though.There are people out there that will tell you to go onto a site like list source and buy a list and start cold calling or direct mailing them to find motivated sellers.
