Short term/corp rental in Dallas?
21 July 2021 | 17 replies
Most of the people who have ever inquired about that with me were looking in North Dallas area...like Plano, Carrollton, Coppell, Southlake. The other people you would want to go after is builders.....Now when it take 6-8-12 months to build, people may need shorter term housing. One thing to remember is turnover and vacancy costs you money...so when you think about 4 x turnover and vacancy a year, your rent has to be much higher to account for this.

This site has kept me from jumping in head first and making some potentially huge rookie mistakes.I'm looking to purchase my first rental property and trying to figure out the best financing option for my situation, so I'm looking for some input from others that have more experience than me.Scenario:We have $130k in cash, of which we are willing to invest up to around $60k (the rest of the money is for emergencies and any unforeseen expenses/carrying costs not just for investment purposes, but for us as well.We also have slightly more than $200k in equity in our pri residence. We are looking to purchase in Collin County TX (Plano, Allen, McKinney) for around $170k max.
