I am sure there are folks that are looking to see what monies are there.. then trying to skip trace and claim a finders fee.As for buying pre foreclosures.. the other issue in Oregon was that if you resold it within a certain amount of time you owed the old owner back 80% of what you made.. 

I would just research the owner of record address in tax records and either send them a letter or skip trace and find their phone or do an internet search and contact them directly.

So if I were to put this into a worse case scenario, it would put me back to just waiting for the HELOC to maximize, skipping the short term loan variable, and buying with a long term loan, putting down 5%.
