As far as steps here- I'd say connect with an agent in the Poconos area first and foremost- an agent that has experience with investors and STR as well so conversation of this house will be easy! 

Be sure to look the house over well yourself so you know what you are getting yourself into before you are in it.

You might want to see what others have to say.If you want to go the guru route, research some others as well.

Looked at Colorado Springs and a few other places, but fell in love with Raleigh for the trees, access to both mountains and beach, and STR does really well here.

I do not want to set a standard that rent will remain the same forever if this ends up being a tenant that stays for years.

If your rents are strong and the Loan Officer calculated your rental income well, you should not have an issue qualifying for a HELOC on a primary. 

Planning ahead and staying financially disciplined now will set you up for successful growth in the years to come.

There is little we can do to off-set cap gains under J taxes.
