Texas REIAs Big Dog Program (Phill and Shenoah) Feedback?

Question

I am considering joining one of the high tiers of the Big Dog Program (Phil and Shenoah Grove). Needless to say, the fee to join is pretty high (40-60k depending on the tier). I see a lot of value in joining and seriously considering to save myself potential mistakes and accelerate my real estate journey.

Looking for feedback from ACTUAL investors who seriously considered / joined the program. Was it worth it, did you get what you expected and did the program help you buiild real success?

I undertand it depends on each individual's actions and motivation. But wanted to hear what others think.

@Youssef Labib  I don't know about the success rate of this or any big guru program, however my thought is most people at the end have parted with a large sum of money with nothing to show for it.  Maybe you are the exception.  I tell all my clients I would rather see them use that big amount of money to invest in real estate.  So what if you make a mistake and loose 10% of $50,000....you will have learned many valuable lessons and still have a piece of real estate worth $45,000.   However if you only invest it in training, then at the end you have lost $50,000 and still don't own anything.

There are a lot less inexpensive ways to learn about real estate in my opinion.

Don't fall for any high pressure techniques from any guru.....the typical scenario is to go to a free 2-3 hour training session.  Then you pay more for a weekend...maybe $200-$300.   Then you get sucker punched for $25,000-$50,000.   No one will probably tell you they wasted their money on something like this.   I've met many people though who go thru these programs and never buy a thing.  Sometimes they go thru multiple programs and still don't buy a thing.

About Texas REIAS with Phill and Shenoah Grove some answers based on experience with real estate. 'Just discovered this group in researching what REIAS there are throughout the Dallas Fort Worth areas and apparently they are the largest group in the state of Texas.

Having worked in and around real estate including loan side for both residential and smaller specialized commercial (medical), renovation and new construction/new build with a broker & brokerage founder (who has since retired) I know from him that in addition to reputable property managers, contractors and architects we had accountants including a forensic accountant on the loan side and a handful of real estate attorneys with one on retainer. All of these came through a combination of researching on our own or consistent recommendation from fellow brokers and investors and it was not too difficult.

Perhaps what you might consider doing before investing the amount being asked is decide if you want or can assemble a similar list of professionals to help with your activities!

@Youssef Labib   There have been plenty of posts about these groups on BP.  You might want to see what others have to say.

If you want to go the guru route, research some others as well.   There are plenty out there....you want to pick the right one, not just the first one.   Gurus have been pitching real estate training for 30-40 years now or longer.

I am at one of Phill Grove's events this weekend in Dallas. Not sure yet what the pitch will be at the end of the 3-day event but Phill has done 1000s of deals and has direction for every possible scenario.

We are learning so much, it is definitely worth just coming to this event and going through all the different scenarios a new or experienced investor may face.

Bruce, I 100% agree that knowledge can be acquired almost for free these days. I find the value they provide in the network of successful investors, contractors, lenders and mentors. I am sure you can build your own team, but being part of a group of successful individuals can be very valuable. Also, I see a lot of value in the help they provide to kick start many things that would otherwise take a lot of time to figure out.

I actually didn't feel pressured at all to sign up, and didn't have to pay for the 3-day workshop. It was very very informative and completely free. Maybe that's why I am considering joining
