If you don't feel comfortable with a standard one then get a lawyer to look at it and make your changes.Third meet them and look at the property while getting a feel for the prospects, if they are interested let them fill out your application but don't accept any money yet (if you don't feel comfortable doing that yet)Fourth run your background checks and look over all the details.You guys got this, people have been doing it for a long time and there is plenty of information.

My background is in Software Engineering so I'm pretty sure we can relate in a good bit of areas.

You will find a wealth of information here.I recommend doing the following things.Complete your profile with a background about yourself and your real estate goals.

You complete the training, take the test, get your finger prints / background check done, then you "hang your license" with a principle broker for 3 years.  

Your financial background should help you in the REI business. 

I have a little background as an agent and I'm thinking of getting my license back.

I have an engineering background in motorsports, however worked in nuclear right out of school, and then switched to navy weapons.  

I am a newbie to the real estate industry, but I do have a software background so you can get technical if you have to.
