I think it rally depends on your strategy, if you are after capital growth, cash-flow or Air B and B.

If you were to rewire the entire property, which is probably the best thing to do long term, would that allow you to upgrade the units to central air, mini-splits perhaps? 

And in that disciplined life full of small efforts, hopefully I'll manage to prolong my years of staying ahead of the three questions for a bit.
