It’s a special property in the small town, and one that a few others have half-heartedly tried to renovate in the past.

I've listened to tons of podcasts and obviously still learning how to understand what even is being talked about half the time.

Our prices rose half as fast (only +15%), our inventory has doubled in the last 4 months (still very low..) and our median price is half (just over 200k)!

Also I had literally been telling them I was planning on converting the garage since FEBRUARY, and they waited until the last possible minute to procrastinate and then bring another half garage's worth of STUFF. 

Now, let's assume that after 5 years, we have paid down half of the principal of the mortgage, so only $50k is still owed.

Any suggestions for the best ways to learn and best things I can do to prepare myself over the next year and a half to be most successful when I begin?

People do not move out of CA for weather concerns. this is the issues with Silicon valley  many have to live out in the Central valley and commute 90 minutes or more one way per day its a grind.But CA silicon VAlley is not going anywhere all you have to do is drive around for a half day and see one after another multi billion dollar projects going on with new tech companies I have never even heard of.. its astounding really.
