Not your department, but you should have a person they can call.

@Patrick Liska Thank you, I'm utilizing it now I was always wondering how accurate it is and will still make some calls to several departments just to be sure.

So far I've found Bigger Pockets to be very helpful both in the learning department and with networking.  

Hi Tony, if I were you I would check with the local building department about the requirements. 

I would contact a local structural engineer for an opinion before speaking to the city building department.

Execute a new lease with the wife as the sole tenant and collect a new security deposit from her.This is the smoothest way to disentangle the departing spouse even if they are currently on amicable terms.

Start with contacting your cities zoning department.

Check with the state department of transportation for traffic counts and if the road will be widened.
