I keep the AC at 76 during the day I believe, and around 72 overnight.2) Some of the newer smart thermostats (e.g. the Nest) have the ability to set a pin that is required to adjust the temperature.

Personally I am in your camp in that I do not accept pets but those that do should benefit handsomely from it if they do.Many people say they take pets and have never had damage, for them getting $100 more pre month is gravy.

@Jayson Hinkson I guess I am more in the let them go camp but that is because my properties are desirable and I can normally get them rented within the two month notice period that tenants normally observe here in Ontario.
