There is no recorded discharge, so assume this would be responsible of new owner to clear up or does it stay with the person?

The building was converted into apartments in the 80's but was abandoned around 2012 after a catastrophic failure of the wastewater treatment plant, the building set vacant until 2016 when I was able to purchase the mortgage from the bank and foreclose on the property. after much work and long nights I was able to renovate the building and with my background in waste water I was able to repair and obtain a permit for discharge from the state of Kentucky.

Thanks for your input Paul - my idea of running low isn’t like most - i do have a rainy day fund to at least cover me for several months, not including what workers comp/disability still pays, and 5 weeks of paid vacation I’ll be taking once I’m discharged and able to return to work - also have part time option to focus more on my real estate Venture - it’s more about funding the business without having to many or any investors having skin in the game

Regardless of what your recruiter told you, the private sector is not going to be throwing job offers at you just because your DD-214 says "honorable discharge," excluding minimum wage jobs that you probably don't want to do anyways. My suggestion would be to go ahead and get that steady civilian sector income established first, or that small business that you mentioned, either way.
