New here, but have been reading the forums for several months as I consider real estate investing, but am having a hard time convincing my spouse the potential "hassle" of a poor tenant is worth the benefits.Our situation includes both of us working full time w-2 jobs and our primary goal is to assist in reducing annual tax burdens. 

Worth it if you are ready to be the driver.  

Also worth noting...I don't know that I'd say DSCR rates are insane.

This is worth five minutes of your reading time.If you have a liability claim at your vacation rental, the claimant is alleging negligence on your part and asserting that you are then liable for damages as a result.

Also open to different type of rentals: I'm thinking co-housing/co-living can be a nice way to increase returns, so will be looking in Belgian regulation for this as well.. 

But that also means we don't take on external clients (folks that don't work with us on the buy side).All that to say, if you can find a company like that in Cleveland, it's definitely worth a look.

If there's sufficient equity in any of your properties, it's worth considering the potential returns from deploying that capital elsewhere.

You can try and go to the seller but its gonna be too late and cost you more to chase the money than what it is worth.

Buy 4 more properties - one approximately every 3 months, based on the following logic = always fill existing property with a tenant prior to moving on (I'm new, and this is my way of managing risk); build resources to purchase next property (I have pretty decent purchasing power right now through conventional lending with my current job, and I also have a private lender ready to loan on my next property, and I also get a quarterly commission check that provides a nice financial bump every 3 months); finding a property takes time, but it is worth it to find the right property in the neighborhoods I want to invest in, at the right price.
