Any RE Investors in Belgium?

Bart Martens
Posted

Hi everyone!

I am Bart from Belgium. 28 years old, living in Brussels in a 1 bedroom appartment which I bought in 2020 together with my girlfriend. Currently renting out this appartment on AirBnB when we're out during weekends / holidays, so getting my first experience as a landlord.. :-)

I'm also actively looking to buy an (second) investment property in Belgium. Target would be to have maximal leverage (ROE), but with the constraint that it has to be cash-flow positive (factoring in mortgage costs).

I still need to decide on the region (Brussels / Flanders / Wallonia) as well as whether I'd invest privately or via a company (patrimoniumvennootschap). Also open to different type of rentals: I'm thinking co-housing/co-living can be a nice way to increase returns, so will be looking in Belgian regulation for this as well..

Any Belgian investors on this forum that already made these decisions or are facing similar decisions?

In any case, I'm eager to connect!

Cheers,

Bart
