It was my first and only investment and has overall been a really challenging and discouraging experience.

New member looking for tax advice on first RE deal.Looking to offset taxable income of my current business income while investing in a rental property.

I have been investing here since 2017 and it has been a great place to get section 8 rents

The next best time is when you decided you want/need to sell it for business reasons: current market is favorable, you have a better investment opportunity, you have an offer you can't refuse, and so on.The worst time to sell is when you were waiting to sell due to tax considerations, and now you can't sell anymore.

Newbie investor here looking to do my first actual investment purchase.

Not 30 days later or 60 days later when you go find the money or borrow it.Every jurisdiction is a little different as to how things work, but typically you won't be able to borrow your way into tax lien/deed investing unless you are borrowing against other assets you have like life insurance, home equity, 401k, stock margins, or some other hard asset.   

I'm planning on quitting soon, moving back home for a little and taking a few months in between my next job to pursue my first investment.My rough idea for an investing strategy is:  long-term, not necessarily looking for high cashflow (just want to start building equity), quality deals > amt. of doors, Class A/B neighborhoods mainly for low vacancy.
