I told him I am all new to this and pre-revenue at this moment and I'd like to ask a few questions and asked if I could count on him to help me through a little bit of book keeping and he encouraged me to ask some questions by ending with "If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask".

YayAs for the lower unit that is affected by their smoking, I'd encourage you to explain to them what you are doing and offer them suggestions to curb the issue until you are able to remove the upper unit.
