I did some world traveling and then picked up another fixer house last year in SB county I recently sold (owner financed).I just got my California Real Estate Salesperson license last month as well (got tired of looking for a good real estate agent =) I'm with a full 100% commission broker in Orange County....I plan on giving people generous rebates if anyone needs agent help.

I have enough worries without having to wonder whether or not the payment has dropped (or risen) by 20% before I'd converted it.I agree... unless you wanted a mechanism to accept the rent 'here in the US' and pay your taxes owed here in the US yet have a ready 'reserve currency' you can convert to ANY local currency when you travel abroad.

Also, make sure health insurance will cover the travel or get travelers insurance.. procedures extremely expensive if something happens that isn't covered by ins.
