These properties were more something that just developed based on our personal circumstances and choices.  

Generally a limited partnership is the common route to take, but is dependent on a number of factors based on the domiciled Canadian's circumstance.  

I have no experience yet, but have been making a list of neglected properties in my target areas.

Your costs will likely be higher with a STR, but given the right circumstances (and Fort Lauderdale is a good market for vacation rentals),  you'd likely end up making more.

Hello Letta McNutt I invested in Hayward / San Leandro area and found it very rewarding, look for neglected properties in area with decent schools and proximity to Bart and you can't go wrong.
