My wife and i are forming a new Real Estate Business in Louisiana,  What is the best way to set up our business with the federal govt and state govt. 

@Patrick FlanaganYou need to identify the zoning district the property is located in within the particular government jurisdiction. 

He and I connected here on BP late last year, and we're both now richer for it with some valuable new experience to boot.I was initially skeptical of doing a deal all the way in New York especially with someone I hadn't met in person, but Mike proved to be an absolute pleasure to work with.We were looking at one deal with the VA as a seller, but like any government enterprise they proved difficult to work with.

I went through an agent and talked to Navy Federal about Refinancing options.

Fortunately, we here in Texas have a little bit (not much but a little bit) less government telling us how to run our own business. 

I used Navy Federal Credit Union for my investment property HELOC. 

When I had my other (non real estate) businesses, we have so many other issues to deal with, such as workman's comp, disability insurance, quarterly employee withholdings and federal and state returns to file that it was overwhelming.

If I were still there, I might look elsewhere to see if there is less traffic in the cheaper parts of King County, such as Auburn, Des Moines, Federal Way, Seatac, Kent. 

Those on government assistance though, seem to be more reliable. 

This borders on government over reaching and is no short of a straight up shakedown.
