The company that issued the new loan in 2014 should have paid off the 2004 loan but if they did not or if they did but there is no record of it then the house is way underwater and you should stay far away.I see lots of weird situations like this in deed records and usually it's some type of paperwork error but occasionally it's a mammoth mistake.
