My goals (as well as my business partners) is to buy and hold; however, as it turns out, it's getting more difficult to buy properties the traditional way so we are exploring other options as well as raising funds via the fix and flips (two pronged approach).My other personal goals are to make at least one friend, and I mean a good friend, in each country of the world :)How active is the BP community in Denver?

Couple of points to explore.

I would explore fully every option to the fullest extent before even considering her cashing in an annuity.

Once I found my tropical mountain paradise, many friends were curious and wanted to explore Panama too.

I would advise seeing a real estate lawyer and exploring the idea of purchasing the house in conjunction with your family member (i.e. both of you on the purchase and sale agreement, title {as Tenants in Common} and mortgage).

Have you explored areas close to you or are you picking Indy because it's on some sort of list of "good places to invest"?

Tell them it was just something you were exploring but that you thought about it and the new business risk wasn't worth risking your job.
