Yep, wouldn't hurt to give them a call as @Kevin Lefeuvre said but I've had this too, VRBO grabbed the payment and is holding it for you unless they've changed how they do things recently. 

I find myself doing it as well... but your right have to really watch it in a business environment not to grab your phone and start looking at it..  

Many appraisers claim to have "geographical knowledge" of the area (which is what is required) but in reality they just grab the assignment to make a few bucks and may not know the intricacies and nuances of the neighborhood, which can make or break it.
