Most that I have seen are more like coaching programs where you are asked to put a good chunk of money down and pay a monthly fee.

Once you have a focus, know where you are headed and have a bit of experience, coaching may be a viable option - but you will get more bang for your buck if you are narrowly focused going in.For now, start networking with local REI groups ....
