I use the Samsung SmartThings hub for that and our thermostat.The main reason I chose the Z Wave was for the battery life.

And, does your side have the same features and layout that would comp it with the others? 

While a 90 day purchase guarantee is a nice feature, I'm less concerned about the disposition of real estate so much as the acquisition.

Your parameters are set up to disadvantage the financing scenario by removing several of its most powerful features.
