If you know the right people (our realtor gets a discount) they only cost about $400-$500 a year and will come out and fix any appliance for about $75-$100 fee but will not replace them. we have used them once just because it was cheaper than paying a contractor to do it when our air handler went out.

You can buy very nice looking laminate that lasts longer and is cheaper. 

Now you can get this done cheaper.

These are places people have to drop money for a service and they can't look around and then buy online cheaper. 90% of retail failures  last year were clothing and furniture store related so I avoid those like the plague.

Cabin kit home would definitely be cheaper, but depending on the area you might be shooting yourself in the foot as far as future value goes.

There are the occasional Hudson/Marshall-type events, but they only have a small amount at best...for me, I'd rather go and network then buy there.Some I see sell for cheaper, but many are just overburdened and underwater...no reason to even show up unless you can try to make a possible asset contact through the "bank rep" (if they even are an actual employee...even THOSE are being sub-contracted out!

However, a brand called Gree is cheaper and may be just as as functional.
