I have had conversations with several Foreclosure Commissioners, and at one time attended a free seminar by the courts for this process, but it just does not come up with my client base.I even worked for about a year with a company that focuses on REO's, but due to the high cost of properties, and the typical appreciation seen in this market, virtually all are bought at auction by the lenders, who then put them on the market through the MLS and sit on them until they get very near market price.

My initial research has shown the properties near Syracuse University suitable for student housing are super expensive, and it seems like they'd require a lot more tenants (i.e. dealing with separate person per bedroom) to cash flow, than regular duplexes/small multi families.
