I am a 20 year old student at the University of South Carolina studying chemical engineering with a minor in mathematics. I plan on going into the field of engineering but know that this is not a path to wealth. I am not in search of great wealth in my life, I would just like to live a comfortable life as part of the upper middle class.
My father is a vascular surgeon and he has had decent success in both the stock market and real estate on Hilton Head island. He has tried hard in bringing me up to teach me about both of these things but I never really listened. As I get closer and closer to entering the real world I have started to realize how little I know about finance. So I have begun to research and read about different investment oppurtunities and I am hoping to learn the different aspects of the real estate market, both through books and the internet.
Obviously, I do not have any capital to work with at the moment, nor any capacity for risk, but I would like to get started early and learn what I can so that when I do have those things I will be able to put the theory into practice and I will not be entering the market blind.
I think that about raps up my story and why I am here. If you have any questions or suggestions, by all means contact me or post.

Thank you, Shawn Fink
