Do you use a specific accounting software to see how your numbers compare to reality over time?

Having software to perform financial analysis is very handy. 

One of the partners is a software developer and has everything automated in terms of calculating demand and discount rates, as well as emailing previous renters.

(I know all this b/c I used to work at a Real Estate software company which syndicated listings) That being said, Realtor.com seems to have access to a large database with accurate information, as Listhub (their syndication) has RETS feeds with most MLSs in the US. 

Get an LLC, get certified to run background and credit, learn accounting software, set up a system for collecting rent....etc.Also, read Tenant Screening: The Ultimate Guide by  Brandon Turner.

I bought my MacBook yesterday and was wondering what are the best apps or software for them?
