The seller probably will not sue you because they have the final say on the price, but the buyer could go legally sideways if they feel you put your interest ahead of theirs, especially if this is an owner-occupancy deal... just keep that in mind.A 90 day extension is a crazy long time, but these are crazy times...

Having recently closed on my first property (a 5-unit, four of which I'm renting and one of which I'm occupying) means both drastically reducing my cost of living at a time of economic uncertainty (the rent from the four rental units covers debt service and operating expenses) as well as projects to dive into while work (and so much else) is slow.Long road ahead to get to where I want to, but I consider myself very, very fortunate to have started when I did.

Even if it is closer to 12 months, that is still short of a normal development cycle.I don't have any inside knowledge, but I do think there is midterm risk in the lending market, and I would encourage anyone with maturity dates in the next year to start working (or press ahead) getting a sale or refi done.
