Looking for *AWESOME* Tax Accountant / planner for Central VA

Scott W Smith
Posted

Anyone know of a *REALLY GOOD* Real Estate accountant either in the Lynchburg area, or good with VA taxes, RE Investing, and can do "virtual" ? We're just getting started in RE Investing, but it seems like we never do anything half-way! :)

Things I will need expert tax advice on in the next 2 - 3 months:

1) Historic Renovation Tax Credit of Historic structures (20% vs 10%, what can I claim of work we requested at closing?)
2) Charitable Donation of unusual collectors items (i.e. $2-4k of model trains to local museum)
3) How to shelter rental income (LLC vs S-Corp on passive income, any other strategies)
4) Prep for 1031 exchange
5) Normal RE purchase / sale tax advice

I understand that this is the "tax / busy season", but I'm looking to schedule a first consult (hopefully) before May, and a 2-min call before that would help tremendously in trying to get a head start on next year!  :D

Thanks in advance for recommendations!
