NOt trying to discourage you at all....just looking for potential trip wires so you can jump over them or go around:)!

Long story short I have made 8 trips to McAllen in the past year in search for a new area to farm.

It's nice to have a bunch of people tripping over other potential renters.

I can pretty much guarantee you basically are going to wind up with the stupidest people in the building who were picked last in high school for everything and on a power trip who will be on these co-op or condo boards.  

Most likely the state where the property is located is where lawsuits would be brought if they are something for personal injury like a trip and fall or something of that nature because the “cause of action” arose in that state.

At the time of purchase, I spent half the year on the road as a guide/trip developer for a premier American travel company, and the other half I spent personally traveling abroad or planning my next adventure from Montana.

I'm based in Bozeman, with my investments out in Park and Gallatin county, but I would swing out there for a quick trip to see what's happening with your deal.

I also read a book by @David Greene about investing long distance and was really getting excited- I even made a 3 day site trip out to Richmond, VA as a test run.I started typing out a really long reply - to keep it short - it's fear that is stopping me from looking elsewhere. 

This way if the tenant gets locked out, you can give them the combo to get in without making a trip.

Im talking a trip to ABQ in January to check the city out.
