If you are buying a new build, you are likely working with a builder's contract which is non-negotiable.

We do value design a lot and make sure that we have a great-looking color combo, but we buy mostly stock laminate.

I'm sorry you are in this situation.All lenders have extension options which will buy you 3 - 6 months to line up someone to finish. 

It might still be a good deal to buy but do your research.
