Unless you are holding a huge number of properties or there is something unusual about your specific situation I question the need for even a single LLC.Most people can REALLY accomplish what they think they are accomplishing with an LLC simply by making sure they have a good umbrella insurance policy in place.

Quick question, as a landlord renting an apartment to an unmarried couple (man/woman), am I legally responsible to notify any authority (police/social services, etc..) if my female tenant informs me that she is leaving the apartment because she fears for her safety (domestic violence) from her boyfriend???

I will agree with you fully that the fed's money printing policies are troubling to say the least and I am certainly somewhat nervous about interest rates going up, which nearly inevitably will come at some point, likely sooner than later.
