if I house hack and live in these multi unit complexes, I would think I would want an LLC.In case something happens and they sue the landlord, wouldn't it be better if its an LLC?

It can be done but the courts don't like to do it and if the tenant fights it, the process can drag out for months.2) if the tenant is on a month to month then you or the current owner can give notice according to the written agreement that is in place.
