I had to install a anti siphon/back wash valve on the utility sink and we removed the water softener as it was not plumbed "correctly" - could not lock the bypass.

You build costs for upkeep into your rents.As a landlord you can only require what is normally expected and removal of shoes is defiantly not normal.

Your tubs and surrounds are meant to be installed stud to stud, by installing the den shield you ate up valuable real estate.It would be easier to remove the den shield and give yourself the room required to install the new system.
