I'm about to close of my first multi-family in East Nashville - happy to chat about my process / plans, and would love to hear yours.

These condos are selling for 500k for a 1500 sqft. multi level units.This home is 750 sqft with 750 sqft in basement.  

While many events are for members only, I believe the bus trip is open to the public, and they have at least one free event per month.Regarding your capital, you have more than enough to go directly into multi family which would allow you to build passive income faster.  

The zoning permits multi-family (beyond just a duplex), and the block is a decent size in a dramatically improving area. 

Looking on advice and what's been a good start for others my idea is to start out with my first time home loan and get duplex or other multi family.

You will find more multi-family opportunities on the west side of town.  

I am extremely motivated to dip my toes in the water but I am having trouble deciding if I want to invest in multi-family properties to rent out for residual income or if I want to invest in REITS to gain some more capital.

There are numerous investing opportunities in Scottsdale including single family homes, condos, townhouses, as well as pockets of 2-4 unit multis in prime areas.

If it's a multi-unit property you may also want to save more.
