And finally, I plan to move to Houston (not set in stone) by this time next year, would it be best to wait, study more, and pursue a flipping career in Texas or would Illinois be better?

I received some bad advice and went with an S-corp structure.Not giving financial advice but I was informed that the LLC doesn't have any real tax advantages because all the income passes through to the owner(s).

If the numbers work and you are confident you can cover the cash flow in a bad situation then do it.
