The main problem was that the venue where the meetings were held became unavailable indefinitely.

How can they say a listing is unavailable the same day is posted?

That is why I can not rely on those unavailable checks.  

I have one 3 hours away and it is very manageable, IF you have a reliable handyman to be your back up if you are unavailable.

This is where the title industry will have their way with you, likely requiring affidavits from people long unavailable and put you through your paces by additional steps as exceptions to clear.

By that definition and the way you characterized the interaction, you’ve likely “otherwise made housing unavailable” on the basis of their perceived disability. 

When times were tough and financing unavailable we took notes for commissions and gave them to our landlord.
