We once stayed in a fantastic location at Anna Marie island only to have the whole experience destroyed by the discovery that there were dried and very dead cockroaches along the kickboard in front of the sink.

i too looked into those (via https://www.sunsetranches.com). unless you can live without water, avoid like the plague... everyone else is.if there's some way to affordably bring water to that area, then it's a fantastic steal.you could catch some snakes, horney toads, desert hares and sell them as exotic pets.although the best use would be as a solar power farm.
