Since you say you want to work in the traditional real estate world of buying a selling I think that signing on with a brokerage that offers a training and/or coaching program would be really beneficial for you in the long run.  

It is smart to have a coach, no matter how long you've been doing real estate if you want to learn Subject To, and having one does cut the start up time by about 6 months but is not mandatory. 

I found a 3 flat with a duplex in the front and a coach house at the back last month.

I have read Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki and signed up for an initial coaching call where the coach is supposed to go over what they offer and how coaching can help me as an investor.

Marshall, also wanted to get started in REI when he was younger.Unfortunately for him, he took a $40k course from one of the Guru's, which included Coaching.

Who would you recommend as a coach?

I got into real estate after a career around hockey (coaching and refereeing most recently).

The way he breaks things down in lamest terms is a true gift that a lot of "coaches/mentors" do not possess. 

Elliot up and down about companies that are coaching folks but I like what @Don Harris and his partner are doing.  

I slaved away for someone else at a fixed rate.I recently ran my own fitness coaching business, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
