Some books I would recommend are here (including, but not limited to):"From Pieces to Weight" by Curtis Jackson A.K.A. 50 Cent.I have read numerous books on investing, money, asset protection, stocks, and business and I must say, this is a great read for the business-minded person. 50 is a great business man and it showed early on in his life.....and it obviously shows now.

S Corps have limitations as well and you pay will pay taxes here as well.LLC is a pass-through entity where if you make 40k in profit, the entire 40k is taxed through your personal self employment tax - but you don't pay SS or Medicare Taxes, like you will with an S Corp, because with an S Corp, you are both an owner and an employee.

Are you talking about this law:http://www.dir.ca.gov/t8/11000.htmlI'm no lawyer, and I don't know anything about California law, but my amateur read of that code makes me think they aren't limiting what rent can be charged, just how much of free rent can be used as credit towards the minimum wage requirement.
