My feeling is that the people who got asbestosis were the ones who worked with day after day for many years.That house sold and I made decent profit, but since then, I leave the asbestos siding in place and install vinyl siding over it.

@Rachel Fazio generally speaking when a basement floods, you get the water out, remove any affected wood, drywall, carpet/pad and install high power dehumidifiers with fans.
