Thomas S. adds a good point-modifying it to make it a duplex would be a great idea.  

And I like the idea of paying off properties, so I'm cool with that idea.So what are your strategies to making this type of investing work for you?

Just a heads up we are meeting this Thursday, 630 at Brooklyns in downtown Buda to talk about Buda, Kyle, San Marcos and maybe even some ideas about development progress/timelines between Buda and Dripping Springs.

. $4500 seems like A LOT of money to transfer our digital plans into CAD (the contractor already built-out our design ideas on his laptop's software) and have an engineer ensure we're using the right beams in the right places.

I think as a new investor, it is not a good idea to buy far from home with a max all in of 50K and expect to be in a B neigborhood.  

I have no idea what the market value for this property is.

He is willing to entertain the idea and has yet to review it.
