I lend HM also and I feel one of the most valuable features of HM is how quick loans can get funded.

It's a feature we could easily offer, we just don't see the value in it.

Or maybe the GC has been asked to do it by other investors because it was a minimal cost for a feature that they can market later.I'd recommend you knock on the next door neighbors' doors and ask whether they've experienced flooding and whether they have french drains and/or sump pumps.As for the cost, it depends on whether you're excavating the basement for other reasons.

The search feature on BP will become your best friend:  notice that the results are separated into different types of results, ie forums, people, etc.Also, set up your keywords (look in the upper right corner of this page) to include 'boston', 'new hampshire', 'massachusetts', 'ma' 'nh' to be notified when people post including those words. 

You will be tempted to put extra nice features into the house.
