So far I have to had someone fix: HVAC, replacing hot water vales under kitchen sink, wiring in one wall, leaking in the master bathroom, falling of cabinet in the garage (not sure what caused it), and now the leaking of the refrigerator.

New tile in bathrooms, new toilets, new tubs, new cabinets, countertops, kitchen flooring.

Our contractor is suggesting we leave a small gap of ~3" from the wall to where our cabinets and appliances would come, but our concern is that this would lead to food/water falling through the large crack and being hard to retrieve/clean.

@Michael Henry - I'm curious to know the age / remaining life of the HVAC system(s), Plumbing fixtures, cabinets, and flooring.

I did so because I had very little money and I am handy so I replaced flooring, painted, replaced cabinets, etc.

But it has to be very clean or cleanable and fits with the rest of the home - so like I wouldn't put in new cabinets and granite countertops and a 10 year old white fridge that you hope is in good shape.

I'm having a hard time locating a corner cabinet that works here.

We opened the floorplan by removing a wall, changed all the fixtures, installed LifeProof LVP, new cabinets, granite countertops, and fresh paint.

All screen doors ripped, cabinets broken off, he took out storage units in our garage which we specifically said you can't do this or we will charge you money.
