Same things that you do on any rental property, depreciation, write-off expenses, mortgage interest write-offs, etc.......Easier to incorporate into my portfolio since thats where its headed anyway?

@Andrew LentzI'm not sure what your experience is in Corporate America, but you might want to allocate some of your mental bandwidth for adjusting to this brave new world you are about to enter.

I too am considering Sutton Law firm for incorporation advice and setup.

Counter tops in the kitchen are typically laminate though we recently found a source for counter tops made of recycled glass and wood/paper which we are testing in a unit {with our student units we have begun incorporating more sustainable finish materials and have found it to be well received}.Finishes aside, all of our student properties come with complementary Internet (Fibre-Op) and non coin-op laundry.

Since I am so new, I really need t o know if the first thing i need to do is get a business name and be incorporated, before i do anything else. i have been viewing the webinars for people like me, and have read several books/articles, but that was never addressed.  

I have spent the last 30 years in Corporate Management and have decided to do something different utilizing the business acumen I have accumulated (hopefully!) 

I've read that LLC incorporated in DE and NV can be more beneficial for tax and privacy reasons, but admittedly am just beginning to learn about our options.Thanks!

Need Heart Strings For REI....Go down to your local Boys - Girls club.See the director.Tell them you are a local RE investment company and are trying to raise money for the Boys- Girls Club.You are giving 10% of GROSS PROFITS to the club as a fund raising program.Now get a picture in front of the Boys Club - Get the logo in the picture.And get a letter from the director thanking you.Take that letter and picture and go to all the pizza delivery shops, try to get them to GLUE a flyer "WE BUY OR LEASE HOUSES" 8 1/2 by 11.Tell them every person that calls and sells their house to you, you will donate $500 to the boys club FROM BOTH YOU AND THEM.
