i believe the statistics are the traditional banks have been originating about a third of the amount of loans they used to over a decade ago.

Hi @Sara Simpson - I realize you asked about Single family homes (which follow slight different demographics and trends) but for what it is worth, CBRE recently put out Q2 2020 statistics on Total Investment Volume ($) Year Over Year for multifamily properties in the Top 20 US markets.

If the dollar value is dropping and things are getting more expensive independently for other reasons (supply shock, decreased production/consumption) they should be compounding factors but I am not sure.

So more foreign money coming in to buy hard assets which supports or inflates prices.I think it'd be diff if we had to buy oil but were pretty independent and this hurts the Chinese more than us if their good look expensive.
