Best way is to spring for a camera with a recorder and then bring it to the police. the ones today are not that expensive and you will have the video as evidence. or if you have a tenant that is home all the time, ask if they will watch and video tape it for some $$.

You may want to videotape the contents with a timestamp so that if a relative claims something expensive is missing and you were the only one with a key, you have a little evidence on your side that it wasn't there.Call the Colorado HUD and they will be able to point you in the right direction for your next step.

yeah, that doesn't help. unfortunately its live and learn. if it's a single pain glass it will not be that expensive to replace, if its a double pain glass, then it will cost you a little more, unfortunately. best bet like i said is to video tape the day they move in, with them in the tape, and make sure you just show everything and have them sign an agreement that everything is good in the place.
