They are providing video tape only to the paid members so any missed meetings can be seen by video.I'm not sure if this answers your question but it's my experience with my local REI that may apply to your situation.

I raised all kinds of hell, the renewal hadn't been signed yet,  gave her the money back and videotaped her taking it as well as signing a receipt,  the police had to get involved to get her to move on her last day,  we gave her all of her deposit back despite about $250 in damages.

@Nathan G.I am not placing them in a protected class but if for some strange reason they say they want to take you to court, it is much harder to prove with smell than with a videotape.
