I couldn't agree more with using an LLC for asset protection, yet as @Adam Roberts and I point out above,@Paddy O'dowd is in a unique situation where the properties were purchased in @Paddy O'dowd 's name, thus a deed transfer into an LLC might prove difficult.

It was a great event in Philadelphia and the next one is scheduled for philly in oct 17-19  @Brian Adams @Dave Van Horn  and they can help with this years agenda.

So, if you do happen to purchase a duplex in certain cities with in the Denver Metro area (ie Centennial, Wheat Ridge, Arvada, Northglenn, Unincorporated Adams County) you can still operate the other end of that duplex as a STR. 

I've heard that the permitting process was getting easier but we're probably going to avoid Denver & Boulder counties and target either Westminster, Broomfield, JeffCo or Adams.
